The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Bup) Malmö/Trelleborg is strengthening its medical expertise and is now looking for a new specialist physician for one of our clinics in Malmö.

Bup Area Malmö/Trelleborg consists of 135 employees and serves children and adolescents up to 18 years old and their families. The area includes three outpatient clinics, a neuropsychiatric clinic, an intermediate care clinic, and a clinic for infant psychiatry. There is also access to inpatient care via an emergency department and two care wards. At Bup, we work with all districts in Malmö city as well as the municipalities of Trelleborg, Vellinge, and Svedala. Bup in Skåne is an accredited university hospital unit, which means that we have a documented close collaboration with the medical faculty at Lund University regarding both research and education. Evidence-based practice permeates our operations with a strong focus on developmental issues.

In addition to physicians, various professional categories such as social workers, psychologists, medical secretaries, nurses, and occupational therapists work at the clinics. Just like the organization as a whole, the clinic is characterized by a broad child and adolescent psychiatric competence with a clear developmental focus, where good collaboration between different professional groups clearly influences the work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role as a specialist physician with us, you will work with in-depth assessments, diagnostics, and treatment together with an engaged interdisciplinary team. The position also includes on-call duties in the combined child psychiatry on-call line in Region Skåne, as well as supervision of resident physicians and junior doctors.

The proportion of children/adolescents being assessed for developmental-related functional disorders has increased across the country in recent years, and participation in assessments as well as pharmacological interventions for these groups currently constitutes a large part of the work. In addition, there will be other pharmacological treatments and consultations with team members. As a senior physician, you will play a very important role in participating in various internal conferences at the clinic.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the role of specialist physician, we are looking for you who are a licensed physician authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare and have specialist competence in child and adolescent psychiatry. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is required. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with children and families, as well as if you have previously worked in Melior and/or WebPASiS. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

As a person, we are looking for someone with good communication skills who can clearly and pedagogically convey knowledge and messages. We also see that you have a good ability to prioritize among your tasks. You are interested in working in a child psychiatric team with an interdisciplinary approach and participating in change and development work within Bup. We expect you to have good collaboration skills and contribute to a positive work environment. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and collaboration ability.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as a co- or main supervisor of doctoral candidates. Please clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.

The mission within psychiatry is to provide specialized care in publicly operated child, adult, and forensic psychiatry. Habilitation provides habilitation and rehabilitation within publicly operated child, youth, and adult habilitation. Assistive devices are tasked with managing assistive devices prescribed to patients in Skåne. Within the administration, there are also vision, hearing, and deaf services and youth clinics in Skåne.
